June Buggie Rants!

Meow!  My name is June Buggie and I have something to say!

So it’s that time of year when we all are SUPPOSED to be happy.  And yet many of you are not.  Why is that?

Some of you are feeling depressed.  Some of you have yet another cold right before Christmas.  Some of you are having issues related to hormonal changes.  And all because of alot of human-made expectations on a day.

Well here’s that I got to say about all that- PPFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTT!!!

Don’t fall for all that pressure to have the “perfect” holiday.

Don’t worry that your decorations aren’t enough.  Personally I prefer to enjoy yours instead of having to tear down my own.

Don’t worry that your holiday party isn’t fun enough.  It is what it is, and if folks can’t show gratitude for all your efforts, then next time invite some that will.

Don’t worry that your gifts aren’t wonderful enough.  It’s not about the gift.  And if someone tells you otherwise, be suspicious of that person.

Actually, a recent study has shown that the most-treasured gifts are those where the recipient is given what he or she asks for.

So enjoy the spirit of the season, and let go of all the stresses.

And if that’s just not possible, then remember that it’s all gonna be over in another couple of weeks, so hang in there!

MEOW!

  1. Dear June Buggie,

I like your name. I also love your costume. But most of all, I completely agree on the not so overwhelming Christmas ornaments. We only have three Christmas lights, 2 of which are outside the house.

My dog Coal enjoys it compared to the regular White light he’s accustomed with during the regular days of the year.

  2. Would it be possible to get you to come and greet my in-laws on Christmas morning? Such a cheerful, confident list of how to be happy on Christmas just does NOT fit their idea of Spirit of the Season. Oh, well, I am happy enough for all re-reading this post. Merriest and most peaceful times for you and yours!

    1. There are some studies called ACE studies that indicate that people who suffered trauma as children are more likely to suffer as adults. These people need our help!

  3. Awwwww…..June Buggie….how adorable you are!!! with the elf costume, you look pawgeous!!!
I also like you sometimes say ” PPFFFFFFTTTTTTTTTT!!!” , which makes me laugh!!! I really can imagine the scene you saying it! BOL!
Yes, you are 100% right! We all should enjoy the spirit of the season, and let go of all the stresses!!! Because it’s holidays!!!! Woooo hooooo!!! 🙂

  4. Well Said – I have always believed that Christmas is for giving to those who are not as fortunate as I am. I donate every year to animal charities and request that if you want to get me a present, the best present you can give me is a donation to an animal rescue group. I just wish my family would understand and follow this request.

    1. Please check out that link on gifts Cleo. It addresses why people don’t give gifts people actually want. Personally I think you doom yourself to failure when you do that, but Jen says she is guilty and knows how easy it is to get sucked into the game.

    1. Let’s also remember that what each of us thinks is the reason for the season may be different- so don’t stress because you don’t celebrate the way all the others do. 🙂

  5. With very young nephews and nieces, we will never have the ”perfect” Christmas dinner party but PFFT to such perfection. I’d rather have those kids running around. 🙂

  6. So cheerful …….. !
The Holidays are meant to be – i think – a Peaceful time – Yet – everyone gets stressed out –
I think to keep it as neutral as possible – and really – Christmas is all about children- and their wonder and awe ….
Happy Holidays …..best To You for the New Year ….

  9. Hey June Buggie,

That sounds like very sound advice!!

I’m sure not stressed about it, I think every day is all about having fun!! What I do know though, is that we’ve started to get visitors arriving in our house, which means more petting for me as they’re staying until after Christmas, yay!! I’m all about the simple pleasures in life! 🙂

    Have a fun day buddy,

    Your pal Snoopy 🙂

  10. Thanks June Buggie. This is a lesson that is taking time for me to learn but I think I’m getting it. I used to think our holiday celebrations had to be as elaborate and full as the ones I had growing up but I tend to forget that that’s not really possible nor even necessary with a family a quarter of the size. How much I’ve stressed over the holidays kind of seems silly now that I think about it. 😀

  11. June Bug you are looking oh so festive. Excellent advice here too.

PS: I am using your name for a feline character in the novel I am currently writing, how do you like them kibbles??? 😉

  12. Some people get upset at Christmas because they don’t have anyone to spend the holidays with. Maybe they should find someone else who’s alone and invite them over to dinner. It doesn’t have to be fancy. Having someone to share it with it the best. For me, as long as I get loves on Christmas I’m good.
