Happy Saturday!

Oh Dog! Saturday is finally here! YAY!

What? What do you mean you're working today?
What? What do you mean you’re working today?

Oh, she’s on call again today, and she says she already has a report to investigate. *sigh*

Oh well.

I do have good news though!  Bubba is feeling better. He is still doing the Houdini act, but Jen said he can stay out of the hospital for now, provided he eats.

And it gets even better!

Yesterday Jen talked with an attorney about our housing issue. Come to find out, that owner and property manager CANNOT sell the house, and Jen does not have to allow them inside to show the house while we are leasing it.  And since she has offered to negotiate an end to the lease and they never responded, then there will be no more showings while we live here.

So while we will definitely be moving, it will not be until the lease ends in August. YAY!!!

Moving can wait! Let's go play!
Moving can wait! Let’s go play!

Ya know, it does bother me that that property manager has acted in such an unethical manner, especially since he claims to be such a pious man.  But he must face his own karma. My job is to not allow my anger to overwhelm me, and cause me to create bad karma for myself.

Thanks to all of you who have offered your advice and your good wishes during this time. It sure does feel good to know we don’t have to go through these things alone, doesn’t it?

PS: If you live in the US, don’t forget to set your clocks forward tonight! Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 AM!

PPS: Voting for the World Spay Day Pet Pageant continues through March 13th, so please vote for me every day. Not much longer now!

  1. What a relief on both counts. So happy Bubba is feeling better and I am glad you do not have to move until August. This gives you time to take care of things. Thank you for sharing your good news!

  2. Woohoo! I’m so glad that Bubba is getting better!!! Besides it’s great news that you don’t have to move until August which makes you feel less stressful! Yay!
Oh! We have only for 5more days for voting for Rumpy!!! Go go Rumpy!!! 🙂

  3. YAY – it’s a good thing Jen sought out a little help on this issue so she knows her rights. Some landlords think their tenants are to dumb to know the rules or too dumb to seek out the right help. he he – then there is always the power of the anipal world on Twitter and the Blogosphere! A landlord just shoulldn’t mess with us!

  4. That new must have made you jump with joy! Enough time to find something that really suits you all. Hope Bubba continues to eat.

Great to see that you’re fifth in the pageant but carry on persuading everyone to vote vote vote as number 6 isn’t far behind 😉

  5. Mom is a realtor and she said that you really have to know the laws and your rights when you rent as landlords are always looking out for their best interests, not the renters! Hope you find a great place to move to in August!

  6. Rumpy I hope that jen is not away for too long! Am so delighted that Bubba is feeling better! Dang that sneaky agent *giving you all pawhus* … least now you have 5 months to find the purrfect home for you all! HOORAY!

  7. Oh so happy to hear Bubba’s better. Have been wondering how he is. Also good news on NOT having to move before your lease is up – sounds like the owner and property manager were trying to pull a “fast one” !! So happy you contacted an attorney to find out your rights…..YAY!

    Happy Caturday….

  8. So happy for all of you that you are able to move in more on your own terms. Anger only gives power to the opponent, so keeping your calm is the better course. Happy Spring Forward!

  9. Happy dancing! (Are those the cutest Rumpy pictures ever?)
Bubba doing better – and no panic with emergency move. YEA!
Things do have a way of working out.
Ready to Springing on now.(Molly that doesn’t mean get on the couch)

  10. Two pieces of good newa. I happy to hear the Bubba is feeling better. What was wrong with him.

Then, it’s really good to hear that you don’t have to move. i NYC an owner can show a house or apartment with a tenant in it, and they have to accept the tenant until the lease is up.

  11. Oh Jen – What wonderful news! I am so glad you consulted an attorney. I am always amazed at what some people will try to do to renters. I am so glad you have time to find a new place and that you don’t have to endure people coming through the house.

Loving that top picture of Rumpy. Seriously melted my heart.
