We have a big problem here at the Rumpydog household. How do I say this? I think Rumpy is a cat food addict.Last night he tipped over the trash again, to get at ONE empty can.Dude, you got a problem!Who? Me? I can quit anytime I want to- I just don’t want to.
Anybody got some advice for helping Rumpy overcome his addiction?
First you have to admit you have a problem and that your life has become unmanageable. You must get Rumpy to the 12-Step rooms so he can at least see there is a better way and that recovery is possible and must get a sponsor.
When I was taking care of my neighbors dog and cat I noticed Petie, the dog ate whatever MaMa didn’t finish. When I caught him, he looked at me as if saying, “I’m allowed!”
I know where the probleme is: Rumpy doesn’t get enough cookies. Get him more cookies, I’m sure it’ll help!
(Rumpy: that advice will cost you kitty greenies, you realize that?)

With due respect to the Cat community…i think you got it all wrong…Rumpy is a sweet sweet Dog and the only reason he is even looking or tasting Cat food is to show solidarity with the cats inthe house plus as he says he can quit any time he wants But Ladies and Gentlemen and Cats ..RUMPY IS NO QUITTER .
I understand you, Rumpy! I love fish and wet cat food smells really yum! π
Besides, I love their bonito stick….*drools* so what’s wrong with us having cat food? *pretending innocent face*
Dear Rumpy,
I’m sure we can find a nice group you can join that will help you curb your addictions. I mean I’m sure the cats are addicted to weirder things.
You have taken the biggest step Rumpy you have bought your problem out in the open. Personally as long as the cat aren’t going hungry I can’t see that it is such a be problem. Am more concerned about you and possible weight gain? Can you still fit in your collar or has hit had to be loosened a notch. Don’ despair we all love you xxx’s
LOL! If I could stop Rumpy from being addicted to cat food, I would have stopped Pierson from being addicted to Maya’s poop a long time ago. Just when I think the issue is solved, he comes inside with poop breath!!!
Oh Rumpy. You be careful with that addiction, addiction makes pups do some crazy things. And the cats might have to take their intervention to another level!
Not sure what cat food tastes like as we are two Bernese Mountain Dogs, and there no cats in the house. That cat food must be delicious if Rumpy is now an addict.
Dogs love cat food because of the high protein content (higher than dog food) but it is bad for them. I suggest rinsing out the can of cat food before putting in the trash.
You are not alone, Rumpy. Our dog, Jet, much prefers to eat his five cat brothers’ food over his own! I’ve tried to break his habit but so far nothing has worked! Just a small warning, though, I do think Jet has started to act more like a cat since he’s been eating cat food! Food for thought Rumpster! Love your blog B T W!!! Dani xxx
Wow! That happens here too! Me has steps so me can gets to my food easily and my hairy slobbery sister Cinnamon has tried to climb them to eats our foods!

PS me steals the dogs crunchies…..
Sounds a bit like Shiner, Rumpy. Except she hasn’t done that in quite some time thankfully! Maybe she can give you some tips on overcoming your trash addiction π
one of our dawgz (the oldest) has a similar problem. same dog also gets into the recycle bin and pulls out the PIZZA BOXES and chews them up all over the yard!
Oh dear, that’s not good. Don’t you know that cat food makes dogs really naughty π
It does here!

They have a 12-step program for cat food addiction?
Just say “no” Rumpy!!! Take care
x
But I don’t want to!
Do they have cat food aholics anonymous meetings near you?
Meow! We’ll look to see. -HFJ

I’ve nominated your blog for an award π check it out here… http://natashaharmeryear1.wordpress.com/2013/04/11/epically-awesome-award-of-epic-awesomeness/
your dog is gorgeous and I love your blog π
Oh Rumpy, you have to learn to hide the evidence so the mom doesn’t know about your addiction. Bottom of the laundry basket works well!
OH! the shame of it !!
Cat food is the reward for living with cats. You earned it, Rumpy!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
I’m with Rumpy… What’s wrong with a little cat char occasionally…!?!
I have never seen a dog that did not like cat food.
lol silly boy
Guess it is better to eat the Cat stuffs… BEFORE it goes into “THE PAN”. RIGHT?
I understand you, Rumpy! I love fish and wet cat food smells really yum! π

Rumpy may have to start going to some Cat Food Anonymous meetings!

I always love your captions, they make me laugh.
I don’t think you have a problem at all, Rumpy! There’s nothing wrong with eating a little cat food now and then – it’s much tastier than dog food.
Definitely needs an intervention!!! π
Cat food gobbles? Only an attempt to show the cats you mean no harm and are showing willingness to share car food breath. All together now!
Dude, you let those cats “help” with your “addiction” and you’re whupped. Be strong! You da man!

Tell him he has to use the litter box if he eats kitty food???

These look like they were really talking to each other.
Well, we think our foods are really yummy, so we can unnerstand why Rumpy would want them.
You tell ’em Rumpy! You’d give up cat food but you’re no quitter!
We actually just got done writing an article about can dogs eat car food! You should send Rumpy to take a look, haha!

Rumpy, it could be worse. Our two old shepherds have taken to eating — God, I can barely type this out loud — from the kitty litter box. Eeeeeewwww.
Oh its okay to try something for a change. π
