DeDe: Don’t Forget to Feed Your Spirit!

Oh Dog! It’s Sunday, and that means it’s time for more beauty tips from me- DeDe! I’m here to help you look and feel your best.

Here’s another beauty tip from your pal DeDe!

This week’s tip: Have some fun!

When’s the last time you did something for the sheer pleasure of it?

I’m guessing that for some of you, it’s been awhile.

And now that the holidays are near, there will be even less time for fun.

But just as you must feed your body, you must feed your spirit. And a spirit force-fed a daily diet of shoulds and oughts will slowly starve.

We like it when Jen sings, because it makes her happy.

What is that guilty pleasure you indulge in for no other reason than you want to? For Jen’s it’s singing. I know if she hasn’t had Pandora on for a while, something’s not right with her. She doesn’t sing because she does it well (because she doesn’t), but because it makes her feel good. If you happen to pass her driving down the road, I hope you see her singing in the car.

People who regularly feed their spirit are naturally more attractive to others. They also rarely forget to leave home without this essential beauty product- a smile!

  1. Watching TV shows feeds Mom’s spirit. Mine, too. When she is catching up on Scandal, Parenthood, Trophy Wife, or The Goldbergs, on her DVR, we can cuddle and drink coffee and cuddle.

    Love and licks,

  2. Hai DeDe! *waving* Your smiling pictures always make us feel happy!
Well…Mom enjoys playing with her fur children (which mean us! ) when her sprit needs to be fed!!!
    We feed her sprit! 🙂

  3. Our MOM does all sorts of stuffs…. JUST fur the FUN of it… Like… waiting until our dad gets half way down the Driveway… and CALLING him … To ask if he has left yet… OR if he Misses her Yet. …. or to say…. HEY you furgot to take Frankie and Ernie… BaaaaaWaaaah.

  4. EEEEEK!! DeDe! You are pawsomely insightful!! And Miss Jen, while she may not sound great to herself…all that matters is that she sounds great to herself and all of you! As for me…and Mom Linda…we are into singing too…it was Mom Linda’s silly singing the Name Rhyming Song that got me out from under the bed when I first arrived here…and her singing (she never remembers the words to many songs so she makes them up MOL!) still soothes me when I feel stress or fear. And we always play, and she and Dad take time to do happy things and they smile lots!! Thanks DeDe, paw pats, Savvy

  5. ah… i do so many guilty pleasures (e.g, i opened a box of turkish delight two daze ago and i think it’ll be gone tonight!) — so the ‘solution’ is to try to do healthy stuff (e.g, take the dawgs and we go run in the woods) several times a week. the dogs know they’ll get extra dog biskitz when we get home!

  6. DeeDee I was at the Doctor’s today & bobbin my head to the music in the waiting room…enjoying the music…the people around me looked at me like I was crazy which then made me laugh out loud…..I felt happy…
You are right; always doing the ‘shoulds’ & ‘oughts’ just depletes ones’ spirit so much!!! You are such a clever poochie. Please give Jen some extra kisses and puppy snuggles…that might do the trick!
    Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue too
