The holiday season is upon us, and along with the joy of the season comes, for some of us, a great amount of stress.
There’s the gifts to buy, the parties to attend, and of course, you MUST be ready for Santa!
And then there are those of us who don’t celebrate Christmas. It must be difficult to go through the entire month of December (and this year, November as well) being bombarded with a holiday you don’t share a part of.
My advice to each of you is to let go of the impossibly high standards you’ve placed on the holiday and simply enjoy each moment as it comes.
The only expectations for the season are those you allow to be placed upon you. After all, if your aunt Cecil doesn’t like anything you give her, are you REALLY obligated to give her a gift at all? She’s going to talk about you regardless, you know.
There are wonderful twinkling lights that your neighbors have shared with you. Go enjoy them!
Savor the special foods that are only available this time of year.
Not particularly talented at baking or gift wrapping? There are plenty of people out there making a living by performing these tasks. Let them do their jobs.
A less stressed out you makes you appear far more attractive, and makes it easier for you to share that essential beauty product that is sorely needed by all this time of year- a smile!

This time of year our evening walk is in the dark and we choose different paths to view the Christmas lights. The past few days have been below zero so we haven’t been able to go very far, but we still enjoy seeing the lights.

We don’t shop. We donate, and the recipient sheds cards to our list of family and friends telling them a donation was given in their name by us. That way the organization we donate to gets to tell new peeps about it. Win-win. We smile a lot! This year we donated to Wolf Haven in WA.

DeDe ya are so right about da Catmess holiday…..so much goin on n even tho we iz Jewish/Mewish we getz cot up in fingz speshelly Mum n she getz wiggyed out n she getz BERY stressed put. So me sat down wif Mum n we meowed about fingz n she deecided to stay here wif me over da hollyday n not go travellin or get stressed out!!!
