Dog Poetry Day!

Welcome to Monday! I guess some of you are kinda let down after that game last night. I mean, even if ya rooted for Seattle, you’d have liked to have seen a competition, right?

Boring!!!!!
Boring!!!!!

To ease you into your Monday routine, I’m going to share with you some original Rumpy poems.

First, a dog haiku:

Monday’s back again.
After a Super letdown,
It feels even worse!

*sigh*
*sigh*

Next, a 2 stanza poem:

Peanut butter, pumpkin,
carrots, chick peas.
Make me some treats,
would ya pretty please?

Mix them up together,
spoon in ice cube trays,
freeze until firm,
then dog treats! Hooray!

Treats? Don't mind if I do!
Treats? Don’t mind if I do!

And finally, a limerick. I posted this one on Facebook and it got a good response.

There once was a human named Jen,
Who took a lost Malamute in.
No one would claim him.
She eventually named him
Rumpy, and the adventure began!

And what an adventure it has been!
And what an adventure it has been!

I hereby proclaim Monday as Dog Poetry Day! YAY!!!!!

.

If you haven’t heard the Paws to Talk podcast featuring Jen, then you’re in for a real treat! Go check it out here!

  1. *drools* The dog treat poem sounds sooo delicious! I love it! and the last limerick is lovely! Very heart-warming adventure!
P.S I read Jen’s interview on Paws to Talk and left a comment a few days ago, but I don’t think my comment appears on it….something is wrong with it….

  2. They are so neat! I’m lucky I haven’t adopted the love of American football yet and only watched the amazing Bruno Mars :0) I have recently got hooked on hockey though after watching the local Spitfires.

  3. I do love that last one! I liked it on Fb as well when u posted it there!!!

  4. My person said she had to watch the game because she grew up in Seattle. But she could have stayed home and watched it. She left me to go watch it with friends and didn’t even turn on the Puppy Bowl for me to watch.

    Left alone at home
in dog jail without a bone
    Super Bowl be gone

  5. Hi Rumpy! OurGirl says she’s glad to *not* be a “Sports Widow,” whatever that is! But both OurPeople are sad that they don’t have cable so they could root for the pups and kits. We do have Nicky and Violet to entertain us and make us laugh though. They’re 8 months old now, so maybe not technically kittens anymore.

We were rooting for the Seahawks, just because they’re birds. Those treats sound yummy. Maybe we could have some sardines in ours. Oh, and we love your mallard duck. Does he quack? Purrs to all of you!

  6. Rumpy, you are so talented and clever. You’re right, it would have been nice if both teams had showed up. It seemed like the Broncos were still in Denver.

  7. APAWZ APAWZ Rumpy fer da poo-etry…we needed a pic-me-up after dat STUPURR BOWL yesturday!
