Chag Sameach to my Jewish friends, and Happy Easter to my Christian ones!
No celebrating in this household. The state of Florida does not recognize either as a state holiday, so I’ll be at work.
Not that I’d be celebrating anyway. No egg hunting here. No sunrise services. No Seder. No money spent on the accouterments associated with festivities.
We will celebrate this day as we do every day.
Rumpy and I will say hello to the new day by checking out the yard.
I will feed the crew, then sit with a cup of coffee.
Rumpy and I will walk the neighborhood, and check the latest scents, sights and sounds.
I will go to work and do that thing that I do.
After work, I will spend the evening with my gang, I’ll lay on the couch. Rumpy will lie on the floor nearby. June Buggie will stop by periodically to check on me, and let me know if there’s anything he wants.
And while the world around me finds the latest reason to be pissed off, I’ll practice living a peaceful existence. I say practice because I am far from perfect, but I am confident that one of these days I’m going to get it right.
