Where Have You Been?

Sorry I’ve been so quiet lately.

I’m still settling into the new home and a new routine in a new location, and I haven’t got my schedule down yet. I’m also now grieving for Malachi.

Our cute little cottage home.

The cats LOVE the new place! There is an upstairs room and in addition to having extra space to run and play, there are steps to run up and down.

As you can see, the cats have settled in just fine.

They even helped with the unpacking!

Rumpy spends much of his time lying on my bed in front of a window unit air conditioner. It’s been incredibly hot here, so he doesn’t want to spend much time outside.

Hey, would you turn this up a bit more please?

But come mealtime, there’s only one place this dog will be.

How about a taste for us?

I like that the lighting inside this house is good, so I’ve gotten some great photos of the gang. Enjoy. And enjoy your week!

  1. Great to see your handsome face, buddy. Moving is exciting, but also stressful for kitties and doggies….and moms. Glad to see you’re all settling in and staying cool.

      1. And then there comes a time in life when you get old enough and you just sit back and let change roll over you. At my age that starting to happen now and then. 😃

  2. Looks like a nice place – very comfy! I’m constantly amazed at your ability to find a landlord that will accept so many pets!

  3. Your new home is super cute – it looks like a storybook cottage. Everyone looks really happy. Malachi is with you all in your hearts. Wishing you only good things and happiness here. x

  4. So glad to hear from you, Jen! Your new house is cute, and we are happy that you’re all settling in. 🙂

  5. If I’m out of line, I apologize.

I need your prose and your uncanny way of tackling emotional issues with sensibility.

Would you do a piece on the Yulin Dog Festival? The event is horrific. The video footage unbearable. The only thing that makes it bearable is my anger. I believe that people are entitled to eat whatever they want to eat. I have horses but I acknowledge that the meat that comes from them is one of the most healthy red meats available for human consumption. It’s the brutality and thanklessness with which these dogs are treated prior to slaughter–I cannot justify it for love or money.

I did not know that this event existed, that it was part of our modern world. More people need to be made aware of it.

It is your writing style and your mixed topics of choice that keep me coming back for more. I’m hoping that you can take this one on. Just a caution, however: you will not believe the photographs and video you are seeing.

    Best,

  6. Looks like you’ve all fallen on your paws with this new home. Cats do adore stairs and lots of space. Rumpy will expand to fit his territory when the weather cools down. Well done in your choice.

  7. Congrats on finding such a cute cottage. Happy settling into the new space. Try to stay cool-it’s hot everywhere it seems. Only 87 more days to official start of autumn, but who’s counting? 😉

  8. Thinking of all the little and big paws that patter through your life…congrats on your new home and my sympathy to all of you on the loss of Malachi. xxx

  9. Wow!!! Your new cottage house looks lovely!!!!! I like it! I’m so glad that kitties love your new place, too! I hope that the heat won’t annoy Rumpy going out for a walk. Oh….Malachi…..I still look at his photos sometimes…cherishing his lovely memories…..
