Hi everybody! Graybie Baby here to share with you something that’s really cool!
You know you love the Alabama Shakes, right? Well, lead singer Brittany Howard has a new solo project with a great new song called, “Stay High.” The best part? Her team recorded an accompanying music video right here where we live! Terry Crews stars, along with our home town.
We thought we’d share the video with you so you can see some of the town where we live and enjoy a song by one of our best home-grown musicians.
The burger joint? It’s called Dub’s Burgers, and Jen says they have the best slaw burgers you’ll ever taste. The place where the people were dancing and the Deputy was eating an ice cream cone is called Kreme Delite. It’s a good place to go on a hot summer evening and enjoy a cold treat. There’s always a line of humans, though, and no self-respecting cat would wait for anything!
Of course, the best part of the video is the song. It lulls you with a soft groove that sends waves of contentment all over Your body.
We love Brittany! Hope you do too!
This is NOT an ad or a paid post. We just love the song.
Ooh, we get to be first. What fun! OurGirl l*o*v*e*d this video. It got her feet tappin’ almost from the very first note. And the song is soooo mellow. The way everybody all over town was groovin’ and keepin’ time whatever they were doing was great. Somehow, we thought you lived in Tennessee. Did you move back to Alabama? It sure looks like pretty countryside. Was that grain going in the bags? We have grain silos in our town, too.
The store and traffic lights blinking was fun and funny. We bet people were confused if they came upon that while trying to shop or drive. Thanks so much for posting this! OurGirl has watched the video three times already. Now she’s going to listen to some Alabama Shakes. You’ve opened up a whole new thing for her!
Love & loud purring from all of us!
Rocket, Julie, Daisy, Colby, Nicky, Violet, George, Tiki, Amy, Joey, Duckie and Angel Annie
We love her too! She is such an amazing vocalist, and her songs speak to me.
And yes, we moved here a year ago. The grain silo is in Decatur, another small town about 15 minutes south of here. Jen remembers eating Dub’s Burgers and ice cream at Kreme Delite when she was a kid! Yes, both have been open that long!
Graybie Baby, thank you very much for sharing the video. Such a really nice song and the vocals were wonderful. We like Terry Crews he’s a funny guy on the tv shows. Have a wonderful rest of your Sunday.
Glad you liked it!
Cool song, Graybie Baby, and nice video. I love the Alabama Shakes and Brittany Howard, too.
She is the best!
Well guys that was great, lived the song and it was so cool to see where you and Jen live. Thank you for sharing it was fun ๐๐๐
Thanks! We love our town!
and rightly so ๐
Love it and guess what? Brittany Howard is SUPER GOOD FRIENDS with my niece, Angela Ribbler. My niece used to work in NYC (she is now in Denver) for a music company and that is how she connected with Brittany Howard. It was just as Alabama Shakes was becoming known. Very, very cool!
who was the person it was dedicated to at the end? God I could listen to that song over and over again!
That is so cool that your niece knows Brittany Howard! You have to tell her to tell Brittany you love her new song. K. J. Howard is Brittany’s father.
That is so cool! Your town is famous ๐
I know! People might even come here on vacation! Wonder if our apartment will be on the list of places to not miss?
Wow, exciting! Looooove the song, reminds me of the smooth soul I loved in the 60s.
You’re right! I thought it was just the local sites that got me in that nostalgic feeling, but I think it’s the reminder in the music as well.,
That is so cool, Graybie Baby! We loved that song, and seeing where you are from! ๐
See? The South can be pretty cool! We still have our problems, but we also have a lot of good.
Thanks for sharing all the lovely things from your neck of the woods. How lucky are you!
Thanks! It really is a great place to live.
I’d never heard of Brittany Howard but now I’m gonna be looking for more by him for sure. It’s always a treat to see your hometown in videos. We felt the same way when Springsteen filmed one of him videos in the club/bar that TW hung out in and her fave waitress was in it.
You wonโt be disappointed!!!โ
So cool! What a great song!
