Not-so-good News at the Vet Today

Hi everybody!

We went back to the veterinary ophthalmologist today and the news wasn’t what I wanted to hear.

She told me and Jen that my eyes aren’t getting any better with medication and she doesn’t want to up the steroid dosage because it could impact my liver, kidneys, and cause diabetes. Surgery is the next step. Jen scheduled it for next Tuesday.

The good news is the vet said it shouldn’t be a painful recovery for me.  The bad news I’ll hafta wear the dreaded Cone of Shame for several days.

There’s also a chance the granulomas could come back.

Please keep us in your thoughts. Me cuz I hafta go through this, and Jen because she is stressing already.

About Jen and the Furries

Hello and welcome. I’m a 50 something woman who’s probably awake when she should be sleeping. Oh, and there are animals, because who doesn’t have pets?

  6. You both are definitely in our thoughts for the suggested treatment to do the trick. We have Jen can relax a little over the weekend to help reduce her stress.

  23. Our Bonnie is going blind. We do the best we can with it, but it’s happening anyway. But she does alright. If she is in a place she knows well, she will manage alright, blind and all. Don’t panic. It’ll work out okay.
