Well hello again. I hope this missive finds you well.
The cats are all OK. Little Girl and Graybow are easing into a truce, which means fewer cat fights and no poop on the floor. Here’s hoping it lasts.

I am still working full-time from home and part-time slinging groceries around town, which, as I’ve previously mentioned, is an adventure within itself.
But it’s the online dating I want to talk about, and let’s be honest, you really want to hear about it too, don’t you?
After almost a month of this I still have yet to meet anyone in person. I have talked with several more men by chat and on the phone. One man was quite charming and I was rather taken with him, so much so that I broke all my rules regarding contact and he had my cell phone number within 24 hours. There’s just something wonderful about talking to a man that gets me, and that doesn’t happen often. Sadly, he’s really only wanting a phone friendship now, and that’s not something I’m interested in investing my time in. To thine own self be true.

Online dating profiles can be just plain weird. Lots of men are into bicycling and hiking. They cook. They travel. And half of them live in Florida. Are there no single women in Florida? While the shirtless wonders have slowed down, I’m still getting hits from guys who want me to have sex with them and their girlfriend. No thanks, but I might be interested in having sex with your girlfriend while you watch. Just kidding. I don’t want you anywhere around then.
Funny enough, since my last blog post a number of men at work are now terrified of me. I didn’t put two and two together at first, but duh! Of course someone stalked me online and found this blog. Now half a dozen boys and men are scared to death that I’m after them. Must take some kind of ego to think a woman twice your age can’t resist your lack of charm and grace. Sleep easy, sugar, because if you think I AM after you, then I am most assuredly NOT.
Online dating has brought home to me that I’m far from the only one that struggles with meeting people. Connecting with others is just hard for me. Always has been. So here we all are putting ourselves out there, trying to paint a picture profile that is both appealing and realistic, and facing repeated rejection in hopes of meeting someone who gets you and doesn’t run away screaming. I guess I should be amazed some of us actually do connect.

But enough about me. How’ve you been?
Mee-yow wow lookin mitey fine there Hissy Fit Jones, YellaFella, Littel Girl an Graybie…mee iss gonna let LadyMe wmee-yow to you Miss Jen…mee knowws nothin ’bout datin…..**purrss** BellaDharma
Hi Jen: I applaud you for trying. And I am sure there is someone out there for you…but you got go thru’ a lot of duds to find the Gem…it seems harder more than ever….
Don’t give up Girl…keep trying…I got your back!
(((hugs))) Sherri-Ellen
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Right?
I think you would be better off meeting someone through volunteering at a cat shelter or someplace you know you would have a mutual interest. Blind dates can be good too- that is how I met my hubby 31 years ago.
Well maybe. But since I’m socially awkward it’s not as easy as it sounds.
Best of luck to you! So oddly true what you say about Florida.
Yeah. No self-respecting woman wants to date Florida Man.
Some men do scare easily – and they’re supposed to be the stronger sex! 😀
When you’re afraid of something that doesn’t exist though…..
Yeah, and all they’d have to do is say “no thank you”, even if it were so.
Dating is really difficult. Jen, I think it’s great that you’re putting yourself out there, and I am rooting for you!
Even without a pandemic, meeting people through online dating is challenging. Even though I’m in the Rocky Mountain region, responding guys from Florida were in over abundant supply. Umm, apparently there really ARE no eligible women in the Sunshine state, and the men there can’t/won’t be bothered in reading the details of some of our profiles…expressly the part of not being interested in long distance hookups. I hope you ultimately have better luck than me. It was so exhausting I ended up deleting my profile and adopting another dog for companionship rather than continue. I get testy letting guys know I’m not interested in out of staters. Good luck.
Bumble is better because women make the first move so I just swipe them out of the way. And I have a prospect so who knows? Maybe.
🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 for you.
