Less-Than-Amenable Accommodation

I like how cheap the rent is here.
Location sucks, but it is near
that place I sometimes go to work.
And yeah, the owner is a jerk.
But hey, they say the same of me.
I guess fair is fair. Honestly,
I moved in at their insistence.
I really prefer effulgence,
not a dark, infectious abscess.
You’d think that they would have more sense
and rent this space out to someone
whose company liked better than
mine. But this fool has me instead
living here rent-free in their head.

      1. I think perhaps we’re seeing something different here. I’m talking about toxic men who hate women and as such their obsession leads to harassment and/or harm to their target(s).

    1. No but we’d all be a lot better off if they would. They could keep each other occupied and leave the rest of us alone.

Oh, and congrats on your new PM. Don’t know much but at least he’s not Boris Johnson.

  1. Dear Jen,

Hi! I am impressed and like your rhyming poetry, in which you have excelled here and in other blog posts that I have frequented on your blog. Since I have been composing mainly rhyming poems, often with end rhymes, internal rhymes, alliterations, assonances, consonances, sibilances as well as rhythmic devices, syllabic schemes, musical patterns, and other subtle or overt features, I naturally notice and gravitate to such features. Hence, I have many good reasons to like your poems.

I shall reply to your comment that you generously submitted to my post entitled “👁️ The Purview of SoundEagle🦅: A Multidisciplinary and Consilient Approach to Critique and Creation in Art, Science, Poetry, Music and Ideas 🖼️📰📜🎶💭” later, as I have to attend to a number of errands.

Wishing you a wonderfully productive autumn doing, enjoying or blogging whatever that satisfies you the most, including writing more rhyming poems for us!

    Yours sincerely,
    SoundEagle
